报告摘要:In this talk I will give an overview of Microsystemstechnology research in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Departmentat the University of Utah. ECE graduate programs will be discussed, andsuggestions on how to become successful in graduate school study will beprovided.

 

报告人简介: Dr. Darrin Young received his B.S.,M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering andComputer Sciences at University of California at Berkeley in 1991, 1993, and1999, respectively. Dr. Young joined the Department of Electrical Engineeringand Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University in 1999. In 2009 hejoined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University ofUtah, where he currently serves as an associate chair of the ECE department.Dr. Young’s research interest focuses on developingstart-of-the-art MEMS sensors, low-power sensors interface electronics,wireless power transfer, and Microsystems integration and packagingtechnologies for biomedical implantable and wearable monitoring, industrialsensing, and personal navigation application. Dr. Young has published manytechnical papers in high-impact journals and conferences, and served as atechnical program committee member and session chair for a number of reputableinternational conferences. He also served as an associate editor of the IEEEJournal of Solid-State Circuits, the chair of the IEEE Electron DevicesSociety-MEMS Committee, and a member of the IEEE Sensors Council. He currentlyserves as an editor of the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices.
