报告内容简介:With the fast advance ofconnectome imaging techniques, we have the opportunity of mapping the humanbrain pathways in vivo at unprecedented resolution. In this talk we willdiscuss some of our recent works on developing novel computational techniquesfor the reconstruction of anatomical pathways using multi-shell diffusion MRI.We will first present several new algorithms we developed for thereconstruction of fiber orientation distributions (FODs) from multi-shellimaging data based on compartmental models. After that, we will focus on ourrecent efforts in modeling the topographic regularity of brain connections,i.e., connectopy, including a topography-preserving tractography algorithm, atract filtering algorithm based on connectopy, and a connectopy-regularizedindependent component analysis (ICA) algorithm for fMRI data. Building uponthese novel developments, we have successfully applied connectome imagingtechniques to reconstruct several challenging brain pathways including theretinofugal visual pathway, and the brainstem pathways. We have releasedpublicly an atlas of 23 brainstem fiber bundles based on connectome imagingdata on NITRC.
